Rain Garden Plant Sale
Since 2006, MMSD and Agrecol Native Seed and Plant Nursery have offered a rain garden plant sale to customers within MMSD’s service area. Plants are provided at a reduced price; about a 50% discount compared to retail prices. In addition to the plant sale, MMSD offers FREE Virtual Rain Garden Design Workshops where customers can learn about rain gardens, plant selection, and plant care.
How do I order?:
To order, all you need to do is visit: Rain Garden Plant Store
Plants are sold in bundles of 4; each plant's container is 2.5" x 2.5" x 3.5 " (length x width x height/depth); one bundle of 4 plants costs $10.00 unless otherwise noted.
Unsure of what to order?:
Join us for one of our virtual rain garden workshops on Wednesday, August 12th in the evening from 4:30 to 6:00 PM or on Saturday, August 22nd in the morning from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. The workshop will focus on how to design and build a rain garden, how to select plants, and how your rain garden can help protect Lake Michigan. At the workshop, gardening experts will be online to discuss design tips and assist you with creating your rain garden. This is a FREE event, but you must register.

Dates to remember:
- July 31, 2020: MMSD begins taking orders
- August 12th and 22nd, 2020: FREE Virtual Rain Garden Design Workshop(s)
- August 30, 2020: All orders must be submitted by close of business
- Saturday, September 12, 2020: Plant order pickup, Make sure to mark the pickup date on your calendar; there is only one pickup date
Who can order:
Any private property owner, local non-profit group, or municipality can purchase plants. Plants cannot be purchased for resale. If you are unsure of your status or have other questions, please contact us using the contact us form.
