Fresh Coast green communities

Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) is partnering with Greenprint Partners to plan, build and maintain green infrastructure on public and private properties through the Fresh Coast Green Communities (FCGC) program. This is a community based green infrastructure partnership program to help MMSD achieve our 2035 Vision. The program aims to reduce sewer overflows and polluted runoff entering local waterways by managing 9–12 million gallons of water during storms through green infrastructure. To date, 90% of projects are located in low to moderate-income areas and over 50% of contract work has been awarded to Small, Women, Minority, and Veteran-Owned Enterprises (SWMBEs).
