Pollinator Palooza
Estabrook Park, Picnic Area 6
The Conservation Committee of the Village of Shorewood, a Bird City since 2013, is holding a pollinator-themed event at Estabrook Park for Saturday, May 21, from 11 am to 2 pm. Pollinator Palooza is part of the committee's comprehensive campaign to increase pollinators, promote healthy yard/landscaping practices (no chemical pesticides/fertilizers), and increase native plantings.
Partnering with the Friends of Estabrook Park, the committee plans to offer a range of family-friendly activities, including bird house painting, making bee habitats, giveaways of native perennials, a tour of the pollinator garden, and three guided bird walks led by Chuck Hagner, director of Bird City Wisconsin. Local environmental and land-use organizations will be on hand with information about how to get involved in conservation issues as well as make your yard more pollinator friendly and sustainable.
The event will be held at the picnic grounds across from the parking lot located by the maintenance yard in Estabrook Park (Picnic Area 6). Follow Pollinator Palooza's event page on Facebook for more info: https://fb.me/e/1OekWsU3S
